Movie Makers

For those of you who love to create your own videos, you have more than likely noticed the limited amount of effects and transitions that Windows movie Maker has to offer. It is very user friendly and best of all, it's free which makes it a popular choice for editing videos.

This movie editing software can be somewhat limited when it comes to the amount of built-in effects and transitions it has to offer, most people go out and purchase expensive movie making software because they are unaware that they can import new effects and transitions easily and freely.

Below, we are going to discuss how to import our own effects and transitions without the need of downloading any additional software to our computer.

Folder Preparation

Before you proceed with importing your new effects, you will need to navigate to "C:\Program Files\movie Maker\Shared" and create a new folder named "ADDonTFX". This newly created folder is where we will be placing our new effects files.

Finding Effects & Transitions

You can access a huge variety of Windows movie Maker effects by visiting the Windows movie Maker Forum and scrolling down to the thread named "Share Your XP Transitions and Effects". Once there, you will be able to view a large selection of effects and transitions that users have contributed freely to the community.
